A bakery that ships has two packages: the pretty inner box and the plain shipping carton around it. The shipping carton is what the courier, the neighbor and the porch camera see, and most of the time it says nothing.
Why it matters for bakeries that ship
- Gifts are judged on arrival. Cookie boxes, cakes and holiday gifts are often sent to someone other than the buyer. The outer box is their first impression of your brand.
- Holiday volume. Thanksgiving to Valentine's can be most of the year. One fall order of 72 or 144 rolls covers it.
- Corporate orders. Companies that order 50 gift boxes notice the outside of the carton. Branded tape makes you look like a vendor, not a hobby.

What works on your boxes
Bakery shipments go in mid-sized insulated or padded cartons, about 12 by 10 by 6 inches, usually taped top and bottom. Cream or white tape with a 1-color logo in your brand color suits most bakeries; kraft-tone tape with brown ink is the classic look. The tape seals the outer carton only and never touches food, so there is no packaging compliance to think about.
How it works
- Upload your logo. Any file works. See it on a tape strip, on a box and on a doorstep in the free mockup tool, no signup.
- Get a free proof. A hand-checked digital proof at real print size within 3 business days. We adapt the logo for print at no charge.
- Approve and order. From 36 rolls per design. Nothing is printed until you approve the proof.
- Reorder in one line. The print cylinder stays on file: same price, no setup, no re-approval.
How much tape you use
A 110 yd roll seals roughly 140 small boxes, 110 medium or 80 large, taped top and bottom; one strip goes about twice as far. The table assumes your usual box size; the roll calculator does the exact math.
| Boxes a month | Rolls a month (110 yd) | Best fit |
|---|---|---|
| 200 boxes a month | about 2 | 72 rolls, reorder when low |
| 800 boxes a month | about 7 | 72 rolls, reorder when low |
| 3,000 boxes a month | about 27 | volume program, 576 rolls and up |
Pricing
The standard tiers are on the pricing table: 36, 72, 144 and 216 rolls per design, in 55 yd or 110 yd lengths, from $16.49 a roll (55 yd) and $20.49 (110 yd) at 36 rolls down to $13.49 and $17.49 at 216. Print setup is a one-time charge at 36 and 72 rolls and free from 144 rolls up; 216-roll orders ship free in the US. Prices shown are for a 1-color design: 36-roll orders print on clear or kraft tape, other tape colors start at 72 rolls at a small quoted extra, and 2-color designs start at 72 rolls with a one-time $299 two-color setup (free from 144 rolls). Founding customers get 15% more tape on every roll, free, on their first order.
Volume programs from 576 rolls are quoted to the configuration: roll length, color count, annual volume, delivery schedule and destination. Request volume pricing with your rough numbers.
The tape
- 2 inch (48 mm) glossy BOPP film, about 2 mil total, on a 3 inch core that fits standard tape guns.
- Water-based acrylic adhesive that does not yellow in storage.
- Protected print: the ink is sealed between film and adhesive, so it cannot scuff off in transit.
- 1 to 2 spot colors standard, matched to your brand color; 3 or more quoted with the proof.
- Clear, white, kraft-tone and colored films.
Samples
We do not print sample rolls with your logo: printed tape does not exist until a cylinder is cut and a press is set up, so a sample costs what a small order costs. See your logo on the tape and on a box in the free mockup tool, then approve a free proof at real print size before anything is printed.
